You too can help us during your stay by doing simple things.
Remember to empty your waste regularly and before your departure. Please recycle using the bins provided for this purpose. It is important to seal garbage bags properly because if left open, they attract flies and generate bad smells.
Rubbish in closed garbage bags.
Paper, plastic and cans.
Cardboard packaging can be left folded in the garbage room on the right.
To save energy, please turn off your air conditioning when you leave your house. Rooms will refresh quickly when you return. The heater can be left at a comfortable temperature. Remember to close the windows when using the air conditioning. Locals keep their homes cool in the summer by closing windows and shutters during the day and opening them at night to let in the cool air. It works surprisingly well especially in buildings like ours with very thick walls. Please also remember to turn off the lights on your terraces during the day – it's the button with the little orange light!
Hot water in homes is generated by thermo-dynamic water heaters where heat from the air is collected and then transformed via a compressor to heat the water tank. The result is a hot water source with very high energy efficiency, the use of these systems is now a legal obligation in France. They are, however, a bit slower to heat up than traditional systems. So keep this in mind, especially if you're taking a bath rather than a shower: A fully filled tub will use most of the water in the tank and may not allow more than a few extra showers without the need time to warm up.
Our wastewater treatment system does not contain any chemicals and uses the filtration potential of reeds and bamboo to purify them. The system is very sensitive to foreign bodies, make sure that only toilet paper is thrown into it.
For electric cars, chargeable WALLBOX charging stations are available in our main car park. The description and the cost are displayed on each terminal.
